Point Vincente is located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes CA.  Features include a working lighthouse, very scenic bluff top top trails and an interpretive center which includes natural history of Palos Verdes Peninsula, Marine Land history, a gift shop, a California native plant garden and a friendly staff to answer any questions you may have.  Catalina Island is visable on a clear day.  From December thru May migrating whales are visable just offshore.  The grounds include a park, great for ocean view picnics.  This is also a popular spot for weddings and receptions.

Pointe Vicente Lighthouse, view from the trail near the gardens on a typical Southern California "June gloom" day.  The lighthouse is fully functional and closed to public access most of the time.  Usually a public tour is held on the second Saturday of the month.  See http://www.palosverdes.com/pvlight/ for historical and touring information.
